Black and white, this is the way we really see this wonderful universe, and although we see hints of color, for the most part the images we see are just mono tone.

After being out most of the night, our eyes become very sensitive to light and the sky takes on this real granular look, it a weird phenomena, its probably a signal that you should be home in bed instead of out in the woods at 4:00 in the morning.

With the introduction of digital, it is hard to find anyone that is still photographing with black and white film; my two choice have been Tech pan, which is sensitive to the red spectrum, it is one of the few films that is, but it needed special treatment, it had to sit in a chamber with hydrogen and nitrogen gas at a specific temperature and pressure for 100 hours before you could you it. The next choice for me was Tmax 3200, and although it did not see red nebulae, it was a very good medium to pursue  artistic images. This kind of work has to carried out in your own darkroom, where pushing the film to 32,000 ISO is required as well as custom printing.
